Twenty seven is the age where you are no longer mid-twenties but all of the sudden you are ALMOST thirty…
Did I really deserve an “Over the Hill” balloon??

So I am sitting here wondering where the first 18 days of this year has gone? It amazes me how with each year time just seems to pass by faster and faster….sigh.Â
Random thoughts: So my mom had an interesting morning yesterday, found a body while doing her paper route. Haven’t had a chance to talk to her yet but I can only imagine that might shake a person up a little. Nicole is in Dallas. Meetings all day tomorrow.
I should post those pics from Key West sometime soon. 🙂
Yesterday Jon and I celebrated our first anniversary! This year has flown by. We spent the weekend in Key West, just to get away. It was worth going once, but overall we were not incredibly impressed. We did spend a good portion of Sunday riding our rented bikes around the island. The weather was quite cool, which made for perfect riding. Sunday night we watched the sunset on the beach and then had a nice dinner at a very casual place on the water.
Monday we drove home . . . I made dinner and Jon fixed my broken closet door! Today we were back at work . . .
Perhaps (I’ve been saying that a lot lately because we are reading the Chronicles of Narnia, which I highly recommend, and they use that word quite often) Jon will post some photos from our trip in a day or so.
Fun fact of the evening, if you are coughing while you are sleeping then you should elevate your head. I learned this last night as I was hacking away at 4AM. Of course I thought my head was elevated, and I reluctantly agreed to an extra pillow (which I thought I did not need) and I don’t think I coughed one more time the entire night…I will be sleeping with two pillows tonight.
Okay . . . so, I promised Jon I would write something today but I’m not sure I have anything that interesting to share. This month has been crazy busy, but I guess that is true for everyone. Celebrating Christmas was great, starting with the Johansson’s on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and ending with Jon and I exchanging gifts after we returned from my parent’s house in Lakeland, FL. In between was the craziness of cookie baking – christmas card writing – present shopping – gift wrapping and party hopping . . . we loved it all, even if I did take on more than I should have. And we had great fun with Jake & Sophia (Jon’s nephew & niece) and Ella (my niece) . . . there are pictures on our flickr account if you want to see them (link at right).
So . . . now we are in Virginia, I’m freezing but other than that we are having a great time. We love being with Dave & Hope, even with the 4 AM roadside rescues. And . . . I am looking forward to showing Jon Lynchburg . . . as well as seeing all the changes to my alma mater . . . Liberty University.
That is it for now . . . in the next few days I hope to post some highlights from our first year of marriage . . . check back when you have a chance.
